TP scale in RT/TunerPro
Simple question, what should the TP scale be in TunerPro running CalumRT?

Some things in TunerPro have never made sense to me over the years and I've always had issues. I recently been doing some reading and learn these things that have boggled me are adjustable. The RPM scale was one of them, it only ever went up to 6800. I changed that last night. The other one, which in my reading I read is very important (makes sense), is TP scale. The range from bottom to top, min to max, is 2-52. We all know on a b13 the min range is between .48-.52. With the key on but car not running, I put my foot to the floor to see my TP actual range from .52-4.18.

Should I adjust the TP scale accordingly? What's yours set at? Thanks

TP is not throttle position. It correlates to engine load. From the ones i have done your lower should be 8-10 to 90-100 for NA. You need to log your TP and adjust your max to that value or somewhere close. There is a thread on how to do this, ill try to find it.

It is explained here, i know there is also another post too.

I read that. Thats what prompted me to write this thread. Maybe I just assumed TP was throttle position? I guess I'll have to read it again when I get a moment later.
PS, I'm turboed.

Thanks though :-)

I've done a ton of reading on tuning over the last few months and still think tuning is more of a black art than a science. You just try a few settings, look at the data and then make changes. I've gone through probably over 25 different iterations of my current tune already and it's still not done, but very close

Silly me! Says its a load measurement in the first sentence of the section on TP. Unfortunately my laptop died just as I loaded the data logger in calumsult so I coildnr even get info to work with.

Tell me please....once I record, when I play back the data will I clearly see the TP?

Yeah Gomba, mine is FAR from done. I'm actually making adjustments here and there from my couch, then loading it some other time to see what it does. Really haven't a clue what I'm doing but it seems to be getting better. She at least doesn't hold 10.0 WOT anymore. It's more like 10.2-10.5 but leaner. Slowly I'll get there.

Decreasing K-value is an easy way to lean out your fuel. Also, if you're running at 4 bar, simply dropping fuel pressure would work as well. The B14 ECU is pretty good at auto-learning new fuel settings in the 'closed loop' areas of the fuel map, but I think the b13 needs a little more attention in those areas when making changes.

You have to remember, however, when you decrease the k-value, so will your TP values and you may need to re-adjust your TP scale. That's why logging TP is so important.

Right....but how do I log TP? I have the data log feature in calumsult. I have the freeware version of datascan too. I'm in a b13 and have my k-value mathematically correct for 3 bar and my MAF.

"(old inj/new inj) • OEM k value = new k value" then of course MAF plays factor as well.

I actually have a whole other thread on that subject from last year iirc.

Read through this:

Read the 'Calum's Map tracing guide'

Also, you can calculate a rough TP using excel as long as you log MAF voltage and RPM. Look at the last few posts in that thread where I talk about that.

HUGE help!!! Thanks man! Dunno I'm down for all that tweaking and such but as important as I read TP is, looks like I don't really have a choice.

Good stuff man! I hope you can get your tune proper.
