Hoping for a solution.
Hi team,

Having issues with idle control; also setting the damn idle speed (wondering if they are connected).
A tuned Nismotronic daughter board, N14 ECU, standard sr20ve, intake, motor pretty much standard except 20v cams and a 2.5" exhaust, and G-spec pulleys.
Starts OK from cold (though HIGH @ 2k RPM), soon dies down to target of 1250RPM; never gets below 15degrees C ambient temperature very often in New Zealand.
Once its warmed up the issues start. Coming to a stop revs sit HIGH, around 1,800RPM for 10-15seconds, then target of 950. Drops down to virtual stall if the fans start, or A/C is on then bounces back once the fans / A/C stop.
When re-starting, from 'hot' or 'warm' i.e. not cold, the idle is erratic, to the point of at least a minute of up, down, up, down, high (around 2k) to target LOW. If I drive off straight away, without letting it settle, it drives like ASS till I let it idle down (even after driving for a couple of km).
Been failing at setting the far-king idle (scoured the net for 'how to', tried them all with no joy). It's either high, or stall. About 1/10th of a turn between the two. Once it has stalled out I have to turn the dial out for 2-3 full turns before it'll idle (albeit high) so that I can attempt to wind it back in.
The neighbours aren't impressed much either.

Any help, guidance, suggestions are very welcome.

Do you have the ability to log from the ECU?

Make sure your throttle is registering closed and the ECU is not jumping from the "IDLE timing table" to the main timing table.

This will cause all kinds of issues, it will increase the timing causing it to idle high and very erratic.

Verify your TPS closed voltage back at the ECU, if you do not have a consult cable or some method of logging from the ECU.

Thanks! That starts to make a lot of sense; changing values, and going from running well when initially tuned then... Issues with running slowly creep back, makes driving inconsistent and just not fun.
Will try the logging of data, check the TPS and go from there.

Thank you for the input.

Do you have a basic board from me or do you have a RT package?

If the RT, then you can post up some logs and your TCD and I am sure we can get you going in the right direction.
