SR20 running on KMS
Hey guys! (yeah I’m from Holland so my English isn’t the best )
As some of you might have read, I’m taking my internship at KMS and I’ve had an interesting offer. So if everything will go as planned I’ll be running my SR20 Highport on KMS (hopefully a MD35 ECU) in a couple of weeks!
Here’s the specs on the MD35 (the info in the start thread of the comparison thread is about the older mp25).
KMS Management Systems
So it’s a complete standalone ECU which that takes care of the ignition and injection, the latter via a self learning lambda control. Not many manufacturers have this option fully working, KMS does!
I will probably make a new triggerwheel on the crankshaft pulley, which will probably be easier than getting the distributor signal working on KMS. The distributor is going to be discarded anyway, cause I will be using a discoil.
The first step is making the wiring loom, which I’ll be doing this week probably! I’m waiting on a wiring loom which I can cut the connectors from because KMS only has VAG connectors in stock. The KMS wiring loom will be in the engine bay together with the stock, so I can switch between systems by simply unplugging the loom!
If someone has any questions, tips/tricks or other useful info I’ll be glad to hear from them!
(btw, I’ve got KMS running on a R13 engine from a RX8 as first project here, wasn’t done before here with a rotary engine!)
