Aem rev cut pros and cons
question what are the pros ans cons of a soft or hard rev cut and this is on a aem . What do most set them to when you have your aem tune do you use a hard rev cut ot soft have you seen and problems useing one VS the other or any gains .And another question what do you look at more when you set the rev limit the aem or tach cause both don't have the same reading example if you want to rev your.car to 7000 rpm and you set it on the aem to 7000 but on your tach it may say 72/73

First off, you go by what AEM displays as your rpm, not what the tach shows. The tach on the dash can be off by a good margin with the AEM ECU, and usually is off by at least some, just like the OEM ECU.

Tons of good info in these two threads. You should read them first.

After reading those you will have almost all of the information to make up your own decisions about your rev limit choice. If you have more questions after reading those, then ask away.

Yeah, the tach is regularly 400 rpm off for me above 6500 RPM from what I have seen. At lower RPM it is usually 50-150 RPM off from the gauge readout, but that is partly due to the analog conversion and the overlay. I recommend that you use a soft rev limit, gradually take away timing and follow that by removing fuel to prevent harsh detonation.

Can you kindly translate that in here?
