AEM EMS-4 or Series 2
Looking at my options and noticed EMS-4 Has the same hardware as the Series 2 just you can only use 4 Injectors and Coils , alot of people telling me the Universal ems-4 is better to go as im using it in a Older Model non Nissan car and Ill have a completely new Harness (universal harness option) as I havent got a Nissan harness yet. Also next thing I cant get a harness in a very good condition. Ill just need to get a dissy or hall sensor kit, sensors and jacks, your views?

Its for a SR20VE Head with S13 RWD Block Turbo charged in a 1980 Mitsubishi Chassis

If it is what I think it is, then it makes sense to go with if you save some money over the traditional AEM EMS (which has built in support I believe for 8 injectors and 8 coils, all sequential).

Traditionally AEM has had two EMS solutions. One designed for 8 cylinders and under (Plug-and-Play), and another designed for 10 cylinder engines and above (with more injector and ignition outputs) (Universal, not plug-and-play).

It sounds like they've split their line-up into three models now by adding a cheaper(?) option aimed at four cylinder engines with 4 outputs for injectors and four for ignition. And people who do not require the plug-and-play solution.

If that is the case, then it makes sense to use the cheaper option. Unless you ever plan on staged injection or using more than 4 injectors in some other way.

I went with the EMS-4 on my B13. I prefer to run my own harness cuz it's neater. It has all the options you will need to run you 4 cyl engine and tons of aux outputs

If I had that option back when I got my EMS boards, I would have done the EMS-4 for sure.

It's a very nice and inexpensive unit. Around $680.00 for the computer and choice of 2 harnesses. Either the full one for $200.00 and cut/unpin what you don’t need or $90.00 for the other and you run only what you need.

also guys i have an sr20ve Distributor and a Harness ready to cut for the jack , so ill just need the 50mm CAS Trigger Disc, It will save time and money to go find a 91-94 dizzy and complete harness just to get that jack which i was going to do before, ill use the ve water sensors also. This shits getting really good and easy.

So how has it been soo far, ive been thinking of doing the same and having the Ecu and everything on the block so it would be super simple to swap the motor.
