Do not do it!!!

It will seem to work pretty much OK but... timing is indeed different and you may have detonation issues.... fueling is VERY strange especially around the VVL switching point. We have seen AFRs oscillate between 11 and ... 18 (!!) in thsi range.. and it was LEAN in the high rpms.
