I think what he was getting at was the fact that you can pickup a realtime board for practically the same price as the basic VE board and install it in a DE ECU, which most people have from before doing their swaps.

Then run TunerCode on the NEMU and you have FULL control over the VVL activation and every other parameter in the ECU via NismoTronic!

Just a thought though.. I know if you want to keep a basic board this would be the way to go, but for a little extra you can get a full realtime package.

This is all assuming the price listed in the first post is the actual price for the basic board.. I haven't looked around enough to find a decent supplier for them.

what I think your missing is that not all ve owners who want to tune their cars have de ECUs kicking about, so when you tally the full cost of going with a de ecu, nismotronic. nemu and tunercode sticking with the jap board and your existing ecu makes sense, also this is not a usual basic board, its the only one that works with the ve ecu

Thanks for clearing that up!

no problem, and just so we are clear I would happily purchase a nismo/tuner/nemu setup if it was compatible with my ecu, so I presume would others in my situation, and as you've already stated that you have a full understanding of the ve bin perhaps hardware support may come from you guys in the future? as its clearly possible to make a board for these ecu's

Hopefully we'll have support for everybody one day.

thanks,

The problem being for us atm, is that there is no realtime board readily available, most of the people who currently want them are running factory Ve powered cars with VE ecu's so want to stick with them. Personally i think tunercode is a far better solution, but there are no jdm ecu's supported atm, and we cant get usdm ecu's to run tunercode in fully.

So thats why i am still organising these boards for those that want them. I forwarded a bin file to JohnKerr a while ago for a sr20ve ecu, they have some similaritys in the bin file i guess as i have used a b13 xdf file and put sr20ve hex address info for tuning sr20ve's on tunerpro. Most of the Hex address are similar, just offset so need the 1st character or so added.

The sr20ve cars themselves still run a OBD1 consult plug, and read thru normal obd1 software. I dont know entirely how tunercode is written, but the bin files are similar in some respects, so it may be possible to write tunercode for sr20ve ecu's, but the daughter boards are expensive and difficult to get due to needing a japanese contact to buy them.

If you could write a tunercode bin for JDM P10 sr20de ecu, and there was more than one output. I'm currently using a b13 tunercode bin on a JDM p10 ecu, and can control aircon output for cam control, but i dont have aircon and would be nice to have more than one programmable output for those wanting to run aircon and dual cam control. This would be the best a cheapest option for our local market.

TunerCode supports 4 programmable outputs on the list of supported SR20DE ECUs. The problem is the 53J00 hardware does not support all of those outputs.

Yeah its just a shame we cant get any of those ecu's in NZ, except gtir, which only has 1 programable output i think.

I have tried to source a b13 ecu, but no luck.

Here's one on eBay that ships world wide:
91-92-NX2000-Sentra-SER-SR20DE-ECU-ECM-Computer-5-speed
