Thread: Can i see pics of how you converted to MAP sensor

Just wanna see how u guys did it, show pics of the intake showing the map sensor/ air temp sensor locations. ill be converting mine to map sensor when my AEM ships so id like to get an idea of what i need to do.

N/A at the moment, waiting for time to get the turbo on. This is how it sits now. The MAP sensor is ziptied to one of the wires inside the cabin right by the ecu to keep the wiring to a minimum. Sensor you see here is the IAT. Look MA, no MAF!

I ran a long vacuum line from the charcoal canister provision through the firewall, to the MAP sensor that I have wired inside the cabin close to the ECU.

The temp sensor is almost completely hidden from view, so it is hard to find a pic of my engine bay that shows it.

Here you can see it on the bottom of the 90-degree bend right before the throttle body if you look closely.


You want to get the temp from as close to the throttle body as possible for accurate readings. For sure at least it needs to be on the cold side. =D

My map is on a vacuum manifold on the firewall. The iat will be mounted 5-6" before the throttle body.

So whats the diffrence more hp or same thing with just more room

haha niiice pics all! i feel kinda lost now at what the map measures... does it monitor engine vacuum? or air pressure inside the intake? i got confused when i saw u guys had ur map sensors remotely mounted and just T'd into stuff like the FPR. i just thought the map sensor had to be directly connected to the intake just like the MAF sensor. Feel free to school me on this topic!

You want the MAP sensor as close to the ECU to as possible to keep any interference away from the wiring/voltage drops/etc. It's the one part that will now control 95% of your tune so you want to really take care of it. You want to give it a dedicated vacuum source if at all possible.
