I’m only new to this but can these boards/ ecu's even fit our wiring looms?
I’m guessing its never been tried to be honest.

The 8 injectors is a big issue for n1's anyway but to be honest I’m starting to think its better to scrap the extra four considering the hassle it causes when wanting to tune the cars.

Cozzm0_AU thanks I was thinking it wouldnt be that simple. That nos idea is one to remember though .

If you can find someone that can read your chips and send me the bin file, and if i can get a stock N1 bin file, i can see whats been changed.

I see no reason why the ignition maps cant be tuned, unless its the boards you are running that are accessing a different timing map that we are not seeing.

I'd stay with the N1 ecu if you can, otherwise just run 1 bank of 370 or 480cc injectors and block the others off, then run a non N1 ecu, DE with Mss or similar.

send any files to evlnxr at gmail

Evlnxr I can get the daughterboard code and see if it is the same one that you use over there.

I can also ask the people who have been trying to tune these for the maps. Im sure they would have both the stock and modified ones.
The modified maps we run from Greece work perfect but the problem is when Irish tuners try to map these they cannot tune the ignition from what I am told.

Thank you for your help and advice everyone .

if it doesn't fit, make an adapter, we do it here all the time.

SCRAP the extra injectors right away.

I found the board code for anyone interested it is KBM50AA.

I would hope that we manage to find a way tune the ve boards because I have spent €500 getting one.

The idea of splicing the harness does not appeal to me but if needs must I will try it.

I heard yesterday that one of the best tuners over here is going to try to tune a n1 once race season has started this year. I have no idea what hardware he will being used but I do hope he suceeds and cannot wait to hear the results.

I really don't understand why there seems to be such a lack of knowledge about tuning ECUs in Ireland?

I never said anything about "splicing" your harness. I said, in the event that your ECU plug is not the same (which I doubt, considering that Nissan mass produced these cars globally, but am also completely un-educated in), just get an ADAPTER. Adapter has nothing to do with splicing anything. It means you have a plug that plugs into another plug, you can buy them here on the forum to go from OBDII to OBDI, or you can make your own. It is simple but time consuming, so most would rather pay $100 than worry about making their own.

You should really stop jumping to conclusions and so some research.

Do you understand that the VE motor does not even exist here in the US? we use stock ECU's with daughterboards to alter the tune. I find it very hard to believe that no one in Ireland knows how to tune a nissan ECU. They are all very similar in design. I'm sure if I could figure it out in less than a month using ONLY THIS FORUM, that any competent tuner in Ireland could do the same.

Apologies I am not trying to jump to conclusions, I understand what an adaptor is but I do not think that it will be that simple for the N1 harness.
I will look into this more looking at diagrams of the two eucs for comparison but there will be the small issue that the N1 diagram is in Japanese.

They can tune the De ecus just perfect over here. The country is full on high hp nissan drift cars. I never said that they couldn’t tune them.

It’s the Ve ecus equipped with a daughterboard I am talking about. And for whatever reason these are not as simple to tune with the nistune software.

I understand that you can just get a DE ecu with a board, a vvl controller and tune away but this a slightly different situation.

I have searched this forum and various other forums and only put up this thread afterwards.

Just to confirm, the plug on the N1 ECU is different, albeit slightly, it is different (and its still OBD I). The wiring for the ECU is vastly different from a normal VE, which is why its easier to just replace the whole ECCS harness with one that matches the ECU you're going to use. Plus, you could probably make some cash by selling off the original N1 harness and ECU.

I was thinking that it would be even looking at the japanese diagrams. Thanks for the info

that db doesnt support n1, manufacturer specifically stated it on their product. well cmiiw or maybe some one else made it work with n1 (8inj), who knows.

i believe they use something similar to s15 board - but i dont know what exactly.
