It has been great in the lower gears ...I am limited to like 8lbs in second ...it is still roasts them pretty good ....it has been helpful in the quest of traction

Using a MAP sensor and tuning with pressure versus RPM are two completely different things in my mind.

You think tunercode/nismotronic is documented as well as AEM? I'd loooove to see that.

You think tunercode/nismotronic tuning software is as usable as AEM's? I can't say for sure, but I highly doubt it. This is also extremely subjective. =/

If I work with a tunercode/nismotronic you're saying I'll never have to touch an XDF file at all? Same goes for entering HEX numbers?

Actually the Documentation that comes with TunerCode is very descriptive and covers just about every aspect of tuning the stock ECU.

It might not get into the depth on tuning strategy that AEM's documentation does, but it most certainly covers everything you need to know to tune an OEM ECU properly.

Seeing how the software has only been available to the public for a couple months now, it shouldn't be expected to be as polished as a product that has been out for a lot longer.

It was designed the way I like to see a software laid out. Honestly I can't say I am a huge fan of the way AEM's software is laid out. I bet you would be surprised at the amount of subtle things you can do with NismoTronic that make tuning a lot easier.

When using TunerCode in conjunction with NismoTronic you will NEVER have to touch a XDF file for tuning... you also won't have to enter any HEX numbers. Everything is broken down into it's most simplistic form, including check boxes for any sensor enable/disable... so no more setting bits manually by changing a hex address.

I think you would be surprised at the feature list that is coming!

aem is pretty simplistic and doesnt require a large learning curve to become a tuner yourself, actually its rather easy.

i am all for other forms of tuning programs out there, esp ones that are slightly less than aem, but you get what you pay for, so its hard to say something good and cheap come out would be really possible as there is alot of R n D with the aem, esp on the new series 2 that has supposed to be better devloped over the series 1 that some tuners and programmers complain about. which is good

I am in the process of re-writing the stock ECU code to operate and program much like a stand-alone ECU, including using a MAP sensor for load. Anyone willing to share their AEM .cal file to aid in this process would be greatly appreciated. Either post them up or email them privately to me at dave@tunercode.com. They will not be published, shared, or used in an actual AEM ECU.

Thanks,
Dave

where are you guys finding the best prices on a stand alone EMS?

I'm up in the air on getting a wideband and just piggy back off my JWT ECU, or getting a Nistune or Calum RT, or going all out and getting AEM EMS...

i really need to tune my car before I do anything else..
