how to load a bin
Fellas, can somebody give me the quick and dirty on loading bins? I can't seem to find the simple instructions on loading a bin. I've got the TunerPro RT software installed and recognizing the ecu. I'm pretty sure I've been able to pull up the tune/bin that's loaded on the car, and I believe I've saved it to my desktop. I have a tune/bin coming and I want to load it onto the car. I'm thinking it involves emulation, but I really am just not confident... I've read the quickstart by calum and everything I can find and nowhere can I find the basics on the simplest things to get me started. I'm sure I've just overlooked it but if somebody could point me in the right direction, give me a brief write up, and/or give me 10 minutes on the phone I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks for your patience! Danny 864-477-9866

  1. Open up TunerPro
  2. Let it detect your ECU. It should say Hardware Found at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Click on Tools
  4. Click On Emulation
  5. Upload file to Emulator (or something similar)

That's long and hard way, easier way is to click the UP arrow in the toolbar. Hover over it and it should display a tool tip of "Upload Current Bin to Emulator".

This will upload your currently loaded bin file. If you download the bin file, click the down arrow .

Easy as pie (actually pie is harder).

Ok, I played with this earlier today with no extra bins, meaning the only bin I have is the one on my ecu (so I don't screw up the tune).

I have two arrows down: "download current bin from emulator to file"

The second arrow down is "download bin from emulator to TunerPro

I'm assuming one of those "saves" the file on my computer (emulator to file?) while the other one loads it onto your ecu (emulator to tunerpro?)

Is that right?

Under file I have: open bin; import bin; and save bin; close bin; and recent bins:

Any further description is greatly appreciated!!!

Essentially, I want to save the tune on my car as a baseline/bench mark I can go back to if I need to....
Secondly, I want to load a bin I have coming from obewan and not sure whether its an "open" "import" "upload to emulator" or what...

Sorry to be such an idiot...

The DOWN arrow downloads the bin to TunerPro but does not save it. You have to then save it on TunerPro manually. Do this first to save the tune you have now.

Change the bin as you wish (you already have the base saved somewhere else in case you scre up) and upload it. The UP arrow uploads the bin you have open on TunerPro to the ECU. No further action necessary.
