NDS Cant communicate with ECU
I'm brand new to this, I got my consult cable and everything. I'm sitting out in my car right now with the consult cord hooked up to the port, and I'm trying to communicate with my ECU, but it can't seem to find it. Anyone have any ideas?

Did it come with any drivers?

The CD came with drivers. It's a cable from Blazt, but when Windows asked me if they wanted to automatically look for drivers for it, I said yes. Should I have not done that? I also saw something about Windows .NET update, so I downloaded that and that didn't work either. I pretty much gave up for the night lol

Uhhhhh bad call. Windows will try to install a generic driver for what ever you plug into your PC. Always install the proper driver before plugging in the hardware.

Ahhh, alright. I'll just start off fresh again, uninstall everything and then try again, next time I'll just install the drivers Blazt recommends.

Had me worried, because ECUtalk wasnt able to connect to my ECU either, but hopefully with the new drivers it'll be all set tomorrow.

Make sure the COM port is set correctly.

Watch your Device Manager to see if it connects properly.

Mehh, I uninstalled everything and then installed the drivers Blazt included with the USB cord and the CD, and it still doesnt work. I guess I'll just give up on NDS for a while until my patience gets built up again

Did you setup the correct port in NDS?

Did u check the device manager to make sure the cable is installed correctly? i.e. Make sure the cable does not throw a little yellow exclamation point. These things are picky little whores when it comes to this stuff.

I had huge issues until I got all the PC kinks figured out.

Yeah, went to device manager and it said the USB is COM 4, so I went onto NDS, and put COM4 for the port, then click search for ECU. Didn't show up with any "active ECU's". So I started up ECUtalk and that didnt work either. It looks like all the drivers/hardware installed correctly, I don't see any exclamation marks

What is this other stuff with the Hex ID? Is that anything I should worry about, or leave those blank?
