Tuning a Gti-R
I have a friend who open source tunes many different cars including his own evo x and other hondas.

I wanted to know if it was possible to open source tune a gti-r with the stock ecu. Is there any chip burner or something of that sort need to be bought?

I know a Power FC is potentially the best route to go but for a free, good tune if possible open source, I can live with for now.

Sorry for the newbness.

Nistune is a bunch of maps right?

Well I was just curious about the gti-r ecu, not any additional maps.

Thanks anyways!

No you cannot tune the stock ecu without adding a daughter board with reprogramable chips.
