Yeah, the prices I'm quoting are including install and initial tuning. I'm going this way primarily because the initial tune will be done on a dyno with the new ECU and turbo set-up. If you planned on tuning this yourself you could get started for $399.00. For the features listed, $400.00 is a pretty good price for a highly funtional peice of tuning equipment. Especially since you don't need to buy any additional sensors and all the software to tune it is included. And $699.00 for most of the important tuning features of a stand alone unit (MAP-ECU2) while retaining all your driveability sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
My understanding of MegaSquirt is that it is a Do-It-Yourself generic EFI controller. Looking at them side by side it appears that it would pale in comparison to the features and funtionality of either of the MAP-ECU's. As far as I can tell, the only direct comparisons would be between a 100% ROM burn, and a full stand alone.
To be honest, last night was the first time I saw the MAP-MCU 2. For the extra funtionality, I may put out the extra dimeage for future expandability.
