Yeah, the prices I'm quoting are including install and initial tuning. I'm going this way primarily because the initial tune will be done on a dyno with the new ECU and turbo set-up. If you planned on tuning this yourself you could get started for $399.00. For the features listed, $400.00 is a pretty good price for a highly funtional peice of tuning equipment. Especially since you don't need to buy any additional sensors and all the software to tune it is included. And $699.00 for most of the important tuning features of a stand alone unit (MAP-ECU2) while retaining all your driveability sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

My understanding of MegaSquirt is that it is a Do-It-Yourself generic EFI controller. Looking at them side by side it appears that it would pale in comparison to the features and funtionality of either of the MAP-ECU's. As far as I can tell, the only direct comparisons would be between a 100% ROM burn, and a full stand alone.

To be honest, last night was the first time I saw the MAP-MCU 2. For the extra funtionality, I may put out the extra dimeage for future expandability.

I think the best part about the MAP-ECU is you could toss your MAF out the window. I know you can do this with stand alones but the price is lower. I agree with Ben. Drive around tuner shops and see what ECUs they specialize in. I myself wanna go with the EMS because that's the most popular down here. But if I can find someone that can play with a MAP-ECU then I might have a second tought

Well I suppose that if you had a shop with reputable tuning skills, and as long as the software was good to go, they should be able to tune it no matter what it is huh?

But since this tunes the stock ECU maps your limited to 8,500RPMs? I believe thats what the stock map goes up to.

Nvm the MAP-ECU 2 takes it up to 10K.

This doesn't seem to be what he's looking for, unless those converters also allow fuel and spark map control.

Map converter will just replace the MAF, u still would have to use calumn.

Over all i think it will be a better unit
