After the Dyno?
Recently tuned my friends VVL setup (daughterboard setup)
N1 cams, 3" exh, +5/-5, Flywheel, SSAC Modified secondary.

Before 188 whp 13X wtq, after 197 whp/ 145wtq

However, he claims the car feels significantly slower.

I detect no knocking throughout the range

I want to ask generally what do you guys do after a dyno session?

Do you richen the map a bit to compensate for differences in air volumes?

Do you reduce timing a bit?

Ah the beauty of the butt dyno. Assuming that nothing else changed, if you made the powerband more linear, it will seem slower. Also if you took timing/fuel away from midrange, it would seem slower and actually be slower until it got to the top end.

Do you have before and after dyno graph?

Technically yes, I'm going to pass by the dyno sometime today to get the files

did you guys let the car cool down? or just took it off the dyno and went for some butt pulls? lol

put it back to the way it was. Afterall the Butt dyno is the only dyno that counts.

no way.. if powerband is different, it can feels slower and actually be much faster. I know this from Honda K20 friends, if they tune ECU, it has more linear powerband, definately faster, but on butt dyno feels slower.

Post graphs to see both overlayered.

Track times would tell you but like they said might not pull as hard but be faster.

your numbers prove it was better. screw the butt dyno.

just like everyone else is saying, linear power will "feel" that it is slower.

horsepower figures win over some guys rear end.

p.s. kudos for your gains, they are nice and I would be impressed before I put my rear end in the car.
