Greddy E-manage blue.
so ive searched high and low. and have not found any straight answers.
the emanage blue unit is supposed to use a special usb to serial (9pin) cable to connect to a laptop.I dont have this cable and my laptop doesnt have a serial 9 pin port. I know they make adapters, but then it would just be converting from serial right back to usb. I though about using a straight usb cable but the manual says not to, and I dont want to mess up the unit. im stumped. is there any way to connect a laptop to emanage without buying the entire support tool for $140 plus an adapter for $25.

I know you have to have that specialized cable for it to work right. I know there was someone that made them back when I was into the eblue but Im pretty sure they are out of business now. If you can find a knockoff cable you can probably download the software somewhere. Beats the ridiculous price for the support tool and cable.

I guess you could always try and modify a cable if you can figure out how to make it work?

I already have the software. I just need to figure out the cable situation. Ill probably just end up spending the money and buying the whole support tool kit.

Here is a site for the cables at half the price of the normal greddy cables. I just ordered the serial to usb, but you say you need the usb to usb. This site has one but they say that they are out of stock. I would contact and see if they could build you one. I got mine for $55 shipped.

I also think all of the greddy brand support tools are going to be serial to usb cables.

supposedly it is ok to use an adapter that goes for 9 pin serial to usb. so with the right drivers the laptop will think that it has a real serial port.

I tried that with a cable from radio shack, I think it was 45 bucks, then I had to buy an adapter because the cable that I got had a male end and I needed a female end for the laptop. So when all was said and done I had 3 days into trying to find the right end and the same amount of money into the cable that I now have into ordering the other.
