Consult Software for Timing Adjustment?
Hey,

I know Datascan can put the car into timing mode, but out of all the free programs out there, can any of them do the same?

bah meant timing mode..although idle mode is the same thing

Can ECUTalk do it? That looks like the best of the free ones and is maintained. I'll answer my own question when my Consult cable arrives, but j/w because that's the only reason I'd buy Datascan and I don't feel like spending $40 or whatever just for timing mode. I'll do the rain dance if I need to

I can confirm that pcm scan will do it. I use nissan data scan on my car or when working on other obd1 nissans. I use pcm scan for everything else with a elm5 interface.

looks like pcm scan costs $$. I'm looking for something that's free.

data scan is free but the adapter is not. You could always make you own interface.

where can I get datascan free? From what I've read, it locks a bunch of features until you pay for it.

Manage to get the older 1.4 Version and it doesn't lock anything. Dont really need more than that for the all the consult needs, including map tracing
