Thread: tuning opinions for sr20de+t also apexi neo stuff

okay i just got done putting my t25 in with 370 injectors n60 maf i was woundering if anyone has some good tips on tuning it i do also have an apexi neo im not wanting to touch even tho its running okay but it doesnt have near as much power as a friends boosted sentra i do have a stock ecu as far as i know. i was also woundering i just unplugged the neo and still runs the same I DIDNT DRIVE IT but is that ok to do

I would strongly suggest that you buy or borrow a good wide band O2 sensor so that you can get an idea of what your air/fuel ratios are under different driving conditions.

Also, the Nistune web site has great documentation on tuning Nissan turbos. You should definitely take a look at that as well.

Why dont you want to use it? an afc neo is not the best thing but its definitely better than having nothing at all to control your AFR. (I tuned my car with an afc neo for like 2 years or so, and worked perfectly for me con control AFRs)
As billc said, before you do anything, you should get a wideband to see what your AFRs look like, if your AFRs are either too poor or too rich your car isnt gonna pull as hard as it should, BTW how much boost you currently have?

im running 7lbs on 370s im running very lean! At idle im fine but soon as i touch the peddle it dumps into the lean i have also an option of selling the apexi and gettin an ecu tuned for my set up and i have no idea on how to tune this can you help out with air map setting or hotwire/flap??????

Its Hotwire, the sensor number should be In 3 and 6 out or 2 In and 6 out cant remember, i think those were for the N60 maf try it out and let me know...

the map you have to tune yourself, its easy, just get a wideband and tune the high throttle when you doing WOT and the low throttle when driving around.
Now, since your going lean, I would say you make all your high throttle to +20 or son and start tunning from the rich side to the lean side, so you dont blow your engine in the process

sorry to jack thread... running into the same predicatment. also running a stock de ecu at the moment on my boosted sr20. but debating on whether to use a piggyback system or a standalone.

stand alone would be better for the long run in terms of upgrading later on but the price is what kills. would a piggyback emanage ultimate or blue be good enough to run a stable boosted stock?

dont get a standalone for your goals. Get a nistune or even a safc will do for what your trying to do.

afc has the plus that is very easy to tune... the emanage blue might be a good choice as well, but ultimate is too expensive, if your willing to spend $400 or so Id recomend Calum RT or nistune, and that will be a very good upgrade, you can tune a lot with it

but the only problem im having is a wide band is to much for me to spend @ this time but i want my car on the road should i sell the neo and get an ecu?

you will need a jwt tuned exactly for what you have, otherwise you will need a wideband to tune your new ecu... and even with jwt you will see good results from fine tunning but in the meantime you will be able to drive and beat your car...
