This guy that tunes down here said that most ecus have the settings locked in to avoid tune drift and stuff like that. I am not too experienced in the tuning aspect of things. He said the only way he could tune my car is to dump the program and make a new one which I thought was complete bs.

False. Find another tuner.

It is always beneficial to have a tuner dump the rom and tune it, then upload a new rom, but for ease of use the SAFC works just as well if not better, since you can see results damn near instantly. You're not going to get that with a board that you have to pull the roms from to tune.

I like the JWT program it just is a tad too rich and I know I can see some better numbers if I get the fuel trimmed down a little. What do you recommend that I use, SAFC2 or the NEO?

Either or, I know the SAFC2 is easier to find and cheaper, the NEO is a bit more expensive so depends on your budget.

my jwt ecu ran my car great for years. i recently had jmr install my safc2 and tune it i gained 25whp.

the safc2 on top of a jwt ecu is the way to go if you already have a jwt ecu.

i would recommend the safc2 as its alot easier to tune so i have heard. plus its cheaper.

stratton.

I'm also running a JWT ECU along w/ a Gen 1 SAFC and its been working out well.

From what I hear the Neo has 6 more points of adjustment over the SAFC2.

yeah its the way to go with a JWT, since with the afc you can fine tune the A/F ratios, from what Ive heard JWT comes a bit rich all along the map, specially in boosted setups...
But I find it pointless to do it when using a Calum for example since you can tune whatever you want with it...
BTW I had a neo afc for 2 years and its really easy to tune with it since you see results inmediately and its extremely user friendly...

That depends on the Calum ECU your talking about. Not all of them are realtime ECU's. Some are the Basic's which work perfect with an SAFC Tune.

Is this the SAFC withe the 5 knobs cuz I got one of those that I'm planning on running with my JWT setup and would love some installation info on it...

Thanx
