MAP stands for Manifold Absolute Pressure. That should give it away right there. =]
You need the MAP sensor to get a signal downstream from the throttle body which usually means the intake manifold. The IAT sensor should be as close to the MAP sensor signal possible, but putting it on the other side of the throttle body is fine and very common practice.
