I think I just found it. Maybe. I'm gonna order one and let you know.
I just realized he posted that 4 years ago. So much for the follow through.

I went off the wrong diagram and put the power to the ground and vice versa so that's that

Is this the part number for the same Denso Short Coils that will work with P11 VC?

Fellas, i'm bringing this back from the dead! Not sure if this thread still gets it share of visitors, but i've always been coming back here looking for another option, specially EURO specific options as american/ls/denso coils are hard(or expensive) to get ours hands on over here.
So someone awhile ago mentioned VAG coils might fit... And for the last few years people have been putting these coils in all kinds of builds and having very good results with them, including sr20det's and ca18det's. One of the reasons why these are such a great option is because the dwell is equal to that of nissan coils which makes it basically a direct replacement (minus the wiring part) for those still on the factory nissan ECU. Besides, if they ever fail, you can always opt for an upgrade to the R8 coils which have identical dimensions but apparently can handle much more power. And did i mention they're cheap? Anyway, so yea, VAG has hundreds of different coils.. so which one is it? Well, to be more specific, it's the ones that come in the 1.8T (and later revisions found in the 2.0TFSI VAG motors) with part # 06A 905 115. I took the plunge and bought a set of 4 for about $30 shipped to test fit them.
Now, on to the good news!

The fit is friggin sweet! Almost as if it's made for this vc. The seal is just perfect, very snug almost OEM like! Not much moist could get past these seals unless you submerge them in a pool, but why would u do that These also have the igniters built-in just like s15/p12 coils. Plugs are 4-pins : 12v, signal gnd, signal, power gnd.
Here it is, fitted on a P11 cam cover.

Now, on to the bad news....
The inner part that contacts the spark plug is sliiiiightly taller. 5mm to be exact. I'm not sure if there's another way to remedy this, but i might get away with some slight grinding of the valvecover, just enough to push it a few mms further in. Hopefully that'll be enough. On a side note, the S15/P12 coils seem to be 4-5mm shorter too and they seem to do the job fine... So they just might work as is! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
Here are the dimensions side by side:

And here's what 5mm will look like... (take a look at the caliper)

Opinions? Let's hear it!
