Thread: COP (coil on plug) pencil coils that will fit a FWD engine.

AEM has their now COP pencil coils out that allow a normal tipped plug....not requiring the removable tip type plug (thin threaded tip) Price is kinda rediculous but oh well.

Ill stick to my $20 shipped 1500 mile GSXR 1000 coils (which are an absolute perfect fit on our motors) and Bosch 8 heat range plugs w/ removable tips for 1.75 a plug or so. You can get the Denso coil brand new clips w/pins on ebay for around $27 bucks or so plus shipping.

If mine burn out int he time your did, I may be going Ashton's route. Crazy!

Yeah I dont think its typical... there are too many factors to base any bad opinion on that failure.... especially with everyone elses successes. So as soon as i can , im replacing it.

Lol i was just talking about this with pTen. Common issue with s15 coils on extended drives or extended run time is they like to burn out.

I don't think its a common issue, its more like they only issue. I have never seen them do that here. They are easy to replace anyways... $250 odd for a set of 4 new.

get the GSX COP and a CDI box of your liking. You could spend the same 250 if you shop wisely. I have s15 coils and if any 1 dies, im going that route

right now until i can order another S15... there is a honda coil in its place.
