If we already have a megasquirt built just not installed:

1. Would there be add on options for lets say VVL?
2. is there going to be an option for base maps and such for the beginning tuning?

Its going great its a long tedious learning process though. I still am not yet professionally tuned and won't be until i can come up with $500

What's illegal about putting your stock ecu back in so you can pass inspection?!? Those inspection machines come up blank when plugged into a standalone equipped car thats why they fail people (I think thats what my friend said)

Its illegal to use an standalone on public roads if your stat has emissions regulations.

All units will include a base calibration and maps for a stock SR20DE.

Price sounds pretty good, especially when you compare it to other stand alones and the stock ECU harness to this ECU harness adapter.

Whats the deal with all the knobs? Is that for fine tuning specific sensors or what?

That is not part of the ECU itself. That is called a JimStim (look it up). It emulates the engine so you can test the ECU and make sure it's working properly without plugging it into a real engine. Those knobs when turned simulate MAP sensor readings, Coolant Temp, RPM, TPS, etc.

Look at the board and you can see the white letters labeling them.

That is very nifty! I was wondering how Calum did it, couldn't imagine having to constantly plug it in and drive...

would you elaborate a bit on that please? Still trying to understand this stuff, but with what I'm trying that sounds like something I'd like to be aware of.

I assume Megatune will still be the go-to software? Update on availability date estimate?

ever look at your stock fuel or ignition map? then look at the rpm scale.

To get to 9k you have to change the numbers around and change your TP load points moving ur cruise points lower.
