haha i know... i meant a replacement/different one. I remember you were having trouble with the stock one and had to get an AEM disc or something to that effect.

Gotcha.

The last thing I heard was that an attempt is going to be made to work with the factory Nissan components. I believe MegaSquirt has the ability to do it. That's the direction things are going right now. Once Dan gets his P10 up and running we'll know a lot more.

If this is a ecu replacement, then the SAFC 2 I have wouldn't work anymore would it? Since I wired it into the ecu pin outs. So we would have to rely totally on your product?

Its not a piggy back. Its a full standalone engine management system. There is no need for SAFC or any other garbage.

I'm going to answer your question a bit more fully.

The SAFC 2 is a fuel piggy-back solution and as such is designed to intercept the signal from either a MAF sensor or a MAP sensor (or an AFM sensor) on it's way to the factory ECU and then augment the factory ECU's signals to the fuel injectors to add or remove fuel.

Technically you'll probably be able to use the SAFC 2 with this Plug-and-Play MegaSquirt solution but that would be completely unsupported and I would highly suggest against doing this. It is going to create more problems than it solves. Please realize that what ever functionality the SAFC 2 provides when it comes to tuning fuel, the MegaSquirt ECU provides as well, and better.

You can think about it this way. Pretend you have a pull-over sweatshirt (ECU with no fuel control) that you want to add a zipper (fuel control) to so you can put it on without pulling it over your head so you go and buy a zipper (fuel control; SAFC 2) and have it sewn into the sweatshirt (wiring harness splicing). Then you get sick of that sweatshirt and buy a new one but you know you like zip-up sweatshirts (ECUs with fuel control) now so you go and buy a zip-up sweat shirt (PnP MegaSquirt). You wouldn't take the zipper off the old sweatshirt (SAFC 2) and put it on the new one (PnP MS). That would be silly because it already has a perfectly good zipper (fuel control) to begin with.
