I'm really liking the idea of of a standalone... but will just have to let do with what I have currently

Went out and drove the car on the highway with a new tune. I must say I'm not impressed. Seems like 18 MPG mixed with a lead foot. I'm going to drive it normally for a day or so and see what it does, then go to Timing tuning.

My WOT A/F map seems to be pretty on though, stays around 12:1 pretty constantly, so I will leave that for the timing map.

Oh I forgot to mention, at the convention my O2 sensor fried, thus for my drive home, my A/F ratios were around 16-17 at 70-75mph, and 10-11ish at WOT.

That day I got the highest MPG on this motor, 35 mpg. The car still drove fine, but I was pretty scared of blowing it up.

Found a very interesting thread about tuning

Here

Look at DWR's post, they seems to know his stuff.

Another thread to read over, this could help you guys with emissions too...

02 sensors are overrated

I agree on that, too bad only B13's have the O2 emulation, B14's are not so allowing .

Now is it possible to force the car to stay in Open loop?

From the looks of it, when you lean out the mixture, a little timing advance seems to benefit quiet a bit.

yeah stand alone is extremely nice, it definitly separates itsself from a moded or tuned ecu with all of its capabilities.

are you talking about wideband o2 or narrowband o2, if narrowband then most definitly their capabilities in air fuel raios are definitly limited.

on this new tune you are not im pressed with did you adjust air fuel ratios? or timing

vadim, why don't you try seam taping? get some blue tape and tape up all the seams on the body so you have one continuous shape. just for kicks and giggles see if you notice any difference.

I got a Wideband, AEM EUGO, once I found a good ground it's numbers seem to be very similar to the ones of the Dyno.

I won't base my opinions of that run because first 10 miles were at 3 bar and old tune, then next 43 miles were city/highway mixture where I purpusfully beat on the car to make sure my WOT A/F were not too rich or lean.

I'm keeping the same lean tune for today and until I fuel up, so that will show me if it's any better then before. For it to be better then before, I need to get above 20 mpg city.

I care about getting better MPG, but not THAT much. Point here is, having a fun car that still gets above 30mpg highway with going into boost.

when i bought my plx it came with noise capacitors, basicly the noise capacitors can help get your air fuel numbers to be more stable verses if you ran the wideband without the capacitor, you can get noise transmissions from other electronics/iginiton ect, you might wanna look into getting a capacitor if you think the numbers might be slightly off from what they really are, you might be getting noise causing the numbers to be off slightly

It seems to be fine now, just to be safe I probably will tune for 11.8 with wideband, incase it's showing too lean. Then next time I hit the dyno I will try to tune for 12.1 again.

Still trying to break loose of the closed loop restraint. I think this is how B13's can get higher gas mileage even though they brick's against wind. OBDI didn't completely live of the closed loop, like OBDII seems to.
