Anyone know what a E61 Maf is?
I was given a brand new E61 Maf some time ago, and was told it was a rb25det maf. When i ran out of range on my w11 det maf i put this on and set the maf up in the tune for a rb25det. The maf maxed out at 4500rpm, so its rubbish anyways, surely cant be a 2.5 straight 6 turbo maf, but my main problem since the last tune is the engine stalling at lights, or after a short blip of the throttle.

I've got a z32 N62 maf to put on, and also have a E60 maf i can use but not much point in that.

Im fairly sure its not the tune causing it to stall, as it used to over rev and then settle, now its just drops straight to zero all the time, but idles fine normally or if i let the revs drop gently, ie from full throttle off then dip the clutch, its only stalling if i come off the throttle and dip the clutch at the same time.

Also reasonably sure its not the idle solenoid, as it was fine before the last tune, and consult shows its controlling idle fine in every other condition.

My point here is really, what is a E61 maf?

Oh yeah, car is a p10 with w11 avineer engine, gtir turbo, subaru 440cc side feeds and a squeezed reg for more pressure, getting 90 duty on the injectors at 18psi boost.

Pink Sticker, 22680 3IU05 A36-608 E61 is the one ive been running, i also have one that is same numbers, but E60, which was brought as a rb25det maf, and i just put that on to see if the idle control problem goes away, still got to take it for a drive, and will data log the O2 and maf voltage to see if it changes things too much.

Ultimatly i'll put a z32 300zx N62 maf on, as i doubt my car is making much more than 200wkw and is maxing the E61 maf by 4500 rpm at 18psi

use the n62 maf it was used on the j30 and n/a version of the z32s which only made 222hp(163.24kw) at the crank. You will be fine

Cheers, i'l just have to put up with the stalling until i can get the z32 maf on, and i'll start a new base map incase thats what is causing it. Its like the ecu is getting a bad signal and not controlling the idle control solenoid in certain circumstances, setting the idle at 1400 makes no difference to idle at 950, still stalls just as easy.

Also noticed on my consult screen that timing drops to zero if its going to stall, but sits on mid 30's if it doesnt. Need to look into this, may even try running it on a emulator so i can see where its running on the laptop screen in realtime.

Its FWD, but semi slicks and traction control sort that out.

E60 and E61 are just about identical. E61 was used in newer Maxima's and the listed Infinities.

very true Vadim. I did not post the complete list of cars that use that maf. The maxima and 97+ q45 also use this maf.

I think my 97 is still E60, but 98-99 would probably be E61.

Updated the thread tittle to read E61 over N61
