Sweet! Wish I had something like that around where I live.

Anyhow, I did some searching on your board, and it looks like it's more than likely out of the Primera, as Calum indicated (HP10),

The only other ECU I've found that had that board, although with a different revision, came in the S13, with KA24DE.

Again, Calum would be THE man, that could tell you just by a brief glance at the ECU, what it came out of

could it be that, it is a stock ecu and someoen jus prob changed something, cause i fine it very odd that i dont ever get a rev limit.

It is odd that you don't have a rev limit. IIRC, the G20 had a rev limit, but no speed limit. I don't know hardly anything about the HP10 ECU, so it could be possible that the HP10 doesn't have a rev limit? IDKFS.

There's no daughterboard on that ECU, that would indicate that someone flashed the ECU, etc. Could be a defective ECU, maybe?

It's gotta have a rev limit, how high did the tach go? Stock tachs are usually pretty far off.

TeKKie, when u said " There's no daughterboard on that ECU, that would indicate that someone flashed the ECU, etc. Could be a defective ECU, maybe?"

I dont knwo 2 much about ECU's nah, so what u saying is that the ECU pic i took out, my ECU doesnt have a daughterboard? and an ECU is suppose 2 have a daughterboard right??

and Jer 760, i dont use a tach, my friend has a SR20 also, he revs up to 8500RPM before changing, last time we raced, he normally shifts at 8500RPM so i was waitin for my rev limit to kick in or so...he changed into second gear and i was still revving in first and GOT NO rev limit, i was shocked!

but the thing is right, i raced a modified sr20 and won...and my sr20 is stock, but i bought it from japan, so im not sure if someone did anything to the engine that i dont knwo about.

No, the ECU isn't supposed to have a daughterboard, unless it's a modified ECU.

That's why I said there's no daughterboard. Without a daughterboard (always an aftermarket board), you can't flash the ECU, so that means you possibly have a defective ECU.

JJ u see that sticker on the cover of the ecu? Genuine Nissan Remanufactured

Also notice the part # 2371M 79J04

That is exactly what it says. I don't know what car its for, you will need the JDM nissan fast to tell u, but every Autech tuned ECU I have come across has had that sticker. Possibly the Impul ones as well but I have no direct experience with those.

It is certainly not 'stock'. The ECU is programmed differently, if you can read the rom and compare it to a stock ecu, one with a zero where the 'M' is u will see the differences.

Nissan does not need a daughterboard to flash all their ecus. Hence Remanufactured. I have one of these remanufactured ecus for a VE tuned by autech. They also changed the rom in the tranny controller that was paired with the ecu.

Unlikely it has 'no rev limit' no speed limit maybe. If you free rev the car (carefully) do u not get a fuel cut? It is still a production item and so still has safety limits in place.

okay then so yoshoto you basically saying that my ECU is a really good ecu you rigth?? or is it a normal ecu?

yes JJ. Typically an Autech tuned ecu will perform better than the original Nissan one it would have been based on.

Also in earlier years Autech also did modifications to the engine itself, higher comp and different cams etc, so if your engine is the right engine for that ecu u are a lucky person.

The autech modified 20VE primeras seem to have been only body trim and tuning, engine was untouched mechanically.

SR16VE N1 ecus also come with a similar sticker, the N1 was an autech modification was it not?
