Thread: Sr20 Ecu Help!! **pics Inside**

Hey Sr20 ppl...i have a ECU..it seems 2 be different from every other SR20 ECU that ive seen..so i've taken a picture of it...can i get any information on this, in the picture you are able to see the model number of the ECU and what not..

JDM HP10 SR20DE with 5spd. Don't know the year, but I'd bet a quarter its pretty much the same a B13 SE-R ecu. The early ones are, the later ones aren't. Pop the top and take a pic and I can tell you.

In other words, nothing special, unless your just looking for a FWD SR20DE ecu.

okay cool, well strange enough, i never got any speed cut or rev limit on my ECU...and thats my ecu in the picture...and i was told that its a pretty good ecu ..

anyone else could help me with this??

Calum is the leading authority when it comes to ECU's on Nissans. I suggest you pop the top as he had requested, and snap a photo or two of the guts. There should be a few rom chips in there you may want to take a close up picture of, using macro mode on your camera.

He likely won't need that, though, considering he's probably seen thousands of Nissan ECU's

yea i woudl when i get someone good to do it for me, i dont really open up ECU's and stuff, i really dont want to damage anything, do u think if i emailed nissan that pic of my ecu they would be able to give me any information on it?

What are you scared of, regarding popping the top off of the ECU? All he asked you to do is remove the screws, and take the top cover off. It's not at all difficult/involved, and there's nothing that could possibly be damaged by pulling the cover.

Unless of course, you have some serious stability issues, and you shake to high heaven when you work around electronics. Then the only bad thing that could happen would be you jamming the screwdriver THRU the ECU, which I don't see as likely to happen.

and actually tekkie my answer has not yet been provided unless the JDM HP10 SR20DE with 5spd comes with an automatic lsd engine, and doesnt have a speed cut or a rev limit...i got this ECU off an automatic setup.

to check it...you pop the top...take pics. then you have to pull the code off it to see what code is really on it. by the serial number on top, it says its a JDM HP10 SR20DE with 5speed....but without looking at code you never know for sure...and without looking at the internals, you dont know if its new style or old style ecu chips....
