ecu problem, need a tune
heres what i got goin on. i have a s13 and i think my ecu is bad. the problem is this, my ecu came with my clip and has a MIND RACING sticker on it, so its not stock, when the car was running good i decided to pull the motor and put it in a different car. i tried hooking up a stock sr ecu and the car wouldnt even start, them i hooked up the one it came with and it fired right up. well now, im having some car troubles, not getting any spark, and i've been thru everything and am pretty sure the ecu is the problem. here is were i hit a brick wall. i know for sure that a stock sr ecu will not start my car. so what i need to do is basicly match a stock ecu to my MIND tuned ecu. i dont know much at all about this. car i just take it somewhere and they can hook up the MIND ecu and see whats done to it and do the same thing to my stock ecu?? can that be done??

It's kind of hard to give you advice because there could be so many causes that would explain what's going on. When swapping ECUs, you need to make sure that the connector goes on straight, there are no bent pins and that the connector gets plugged in far enough. You might want to try your stock ECU again keeping this in mind.

Also, check that the engine is using stock MAF and injectors, otherwise the stock ECU will not be a good one to use.

If this doesn't help, I'm betting that the ECU is not the problem.

i think im getting a fine conection on the ecu, ive taken it on and off several times, cleaned all the pins and the slots in the connector and when i put it back on i tighten it all the way down.
heres another question that i forgot to put in the first post.
i have read for hours on different forums trying to figure this out, one thing that is happening is when i try to pull the codes from the ecu, the red light that should be blinking just comes on and stays on. i have read in several places that that means it went into limp mode. but i have also read in some places that if that red light just stays on when you try to pull the codes that that means the ecu is bad. does anyone know for sure???
