How to change MAFs in a BIN?
I need to change what MAF I have my BIN setup for. I had it set for a VE MAF and now I have an N60. What do I need to change?

I believe that the VE MAF and N60 MAF are the same. They should use the same VQ file in the bin. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

I believe the VE is more like the E60 maf.

Here is how you change MAF's in a bin file: http://www.sr20-forum.com/calumsult/8818-mapping-de-mafto-n60.html#post121951

Good reference -- thanks. What cars does the E60 MAF come on? Any in the US?

Yes sir, 95-99 Nissan Maxima's. It replaced the older N60 on older Maxima's.

Hey guys,
Im doing the same types of Bin changes: MAFs & Injector Bin changes...

Bill, the E60/61 MAFs are from the 95-99 Maxima's. We visted a Crazy Rays locally and found 12 Maximas from these years; but all were missing their $25 MAFs... Wonder why??

Just take the VQ table from another bin with the same MAF. You really need to put the car on a wideband to dial-in the new K value correctly, otherwise your AFRs will probably be off a bit. Formula: (old injector size/new injector size) x old_K = new_K PLUS/MINUS values depending on your wideband readings.

Please Note: These old E60/61 MAFs are not created equal. They do wear out & some are already completely shot. Tested several and found the signal strength to vary as much as 1.5v @ idle. Thats approx 1/3 of the max MAF voltage of 5 volts.. I found some MAFs reading @ .22 & .072v!! The normal MAF idle voltage is between 1.5 v & 2.0v at operating temp. You must test your MAFs to identify the strongest one of the group. Its easy, just test the signal @ idle with your DVM; the weak ones will be very obvious with their low readings (under 1v) & the noticeable stumbling idle difference. The idle MAF voltage must be greater than the Low MAF Voltage Enrichment Trigger constant in your ecu bin file. Normal Calums bins has this constant set at 1.0v and Jim Wolfe bins has the constant set at 0.0v or 0.01v

Calum provided me this info to manually add this constant to your xdf,
Create the following:

-constant/scalar
-address 0A22
-size 16 bits
-units of Volts
-conversion formula of 'X * .005'
-title: EA22 - Low MAF Voltage Enrichment Trigger

Then save your XDF..

so which is it?
Which maf is the same as the VE?
I have a calum basic with a VE maf, that seems to be giving me problems, and want to try a n60 MAF(because I have one)
I am having trouble at High rpm stalling.Want to try to swap the maf.
Will I need to send the ecu to Calum to be changed?

Uhh it will probably need it's own table. I don't think any maf is going to be 100% same even if they are teh same style.

Thanks alot,Vadim!!!...I saw that thread before, but missed the VE part you quoted.
I just so happen to be doing a tune up on a 2000 frontier V6 for a friend,so I can try swapping mafs...I looked...They are the same part #
