Thread: TPS problem???

My car is having this small problem for a very long time now. When is cold hesitate a lot, but at soon I see the temp gauge reaching an especific spot the car sudendly stop the hesitation and runs normal. Is like when it reach a certain temp will run normal. I have change everything, temp sensor, MAF sensor, tune up, even the injectors, but I have not hit the nail on the head yet . The only thing left to change is the TPS. Which according to the volt reading is working fine.

Today that the weather is colder than normal I noticed that the car hesitate more. It is like she does not like cold weather, which I think any car should run better on cold weather, but I could be wrong? It is just 45 degrees outside.

Question:

Is the TPS voltage should be the same whenever the car is cold or hot?

I don't want to spend another $120 for the wrong part. If anybody have any idea about this please let me know. Thanks

A SR20VE will be nice, but I don't have the time to do this project right now.

You can put a SR20VE in your car in one day.

It could be a faulty electrical connection somewhere, or it could be a failing ECU.

I had the same issue when I had the JWT ECU for my sr20ve but then it went away when I put in the Calum basic ECU.

But only happens when the car is cold

Also, can somebody tell me if the TPS voltage reading should be the same when the car is cold and warm?

Tps reading wont be any different with engine temp sounds like an ecu programing problem.. Kind of a pain in the ass but best bet is to send the ecu to jwt to have them check it or just switch to the calum
