aem ems???
who here on this forum uses the aem ems, and has tuned with it??? the reason i ask is because im maybe looking into going this route but i want to see what members that have the unit and or has dealt with it have to say about it. i went on the aem forum but it really doesn't have too much good info so i rather see if someone from here has it. thanks in advance guys.

I've wokred with AEM's EMS quite a bit (see danmartin on this list). Dan's very familiar as well (obviously).

Coach is our resident AEM expert though. Ask us and we should have the answer.
I've personally dealt extensively with MegaSquirt, VEMS and AEM. I'm finally coming around and realizing AEM is just so much nicer, more polished, and easier to deal/tune with. You can't go wrong with AEM's EMS.

thanks for chiming in guys. so whats up with that cas disk problems some people from the aem forum have been having??? thats basically whats bothering me right now. another thing i wanted to know is if the unit is still able to power all electronic stuff the oem ecu did?? what i mean by that would i still be able to turn on my radio and other misc. electrical components or do i have to rigg something up?? i know i need to buy the map sensor and intake temp sensor. oh yeah and the boost solenoid if i want to use the electronic boost. thanks once again guys.

The engine ECU should be in no way associated with the factory radio and such, so all of those will work fine. The A/C is a different matter, and should work fine with the AEM PnP unit as far as I know.

The CAS disc issue is for RWD only (or maybe GTi-R engines) from what I recall. If for some reason you do experience RPM signal issues, it's a simple matter of buying their $60 disc and installing it inside your distributor as a fix (need to adjust settings in AEM as well). The reason for this is that the stock CAS disc has so many marks on it, the AEM unit can't keep up at high rpm. They replace with a disc with less marks.

EMS, yes.
ITBs... depends. You have to do them right. And ECU tuning with ITBs is so different (alpha-N vs. speed density) I wouldn't want to tackle that without some experience.
