VVL Activation via TunerCode (Stock DE ECU)
This is something that many people have asked so I figured I would post this up and show you guys one of the great benefits of the TunerCode firmware.
TunerCode gives you access to control certain ECU outputs, these outputs will vary depending on what ECU you are using and can be used for anything from VVL activation to Nitrous, Meth injection, boost control, etc.
For this particular post I am going to show you how I hook them up when using a B13 ECU to control the VVL solenoids on a VE engine.
Here is a wiring diagram that I drew up real quick to show how things are being wired.
(**If you want to engage both cams at the same RPM point.. then you only need to use 1 relay and 1 output in the ECU... this will suffice just fine for most setups!**)
Here is how you set it up in NismoTronic to control the outputs.
In the output trigger table I select which Outputs I would like to use (EGR, A/C, AIV, O2 HTR), and then I select which trigger IDs I would like to use (RPM, CLT, Load, VSS, TPS).
Then in the tables below you enter the limit where you would like the output to turn 'ON' and the limits where you would like the outputs to turn 'OFF'.
ALL of the conditions MUST be met to turn the output on.. so in this example you can see that these conditions are (RPM > 4600, CLT > 150, TPS > 50, Load > 50) and VSS is not being used!
Here is a video of this in action.

PLEAE NOTE: If you would like to retain your A/C system control, please consider using the EGR/AIV outputs from the ECU for the VVL solenoid control. If you use the A/C output you WILL lose your A/C system functionality!
