Yes, it can be done, however because the tach signal is generated from the ignition signal, when spark is cut the tach needle jumps around and does not read the correct RPM.

but this only happens when launch is activated ? meaning after launch the tach will read accurately ?

Yes, with spark cut enabled, the ignition signal is interrupted to keep one or more plugs from firing. While this is happening, the signal to the tach is also interrupted and the tach needle jumps around, but only when the rev limiter is active. When the launch speed is exceeded, or the RPM is below the launch rev limit, the tach reads normally.

I'll add an option to enable spark cut while launch rev limit is active. This will be in addition to the anti-lag retard and fuel enrichment features.

dave you the man !!! i really think that this will improve sales with the Caribbean market
now if you could tell me for certain if the 53j00 ecu are compatible with turner pro that would be the next huge milestone
( i did send the jdm bin file file anyword? )

The 53J00 ECU is not on the supported list yet because the I/O functions have not been verified. You may be able to run the engine with TunerCode in a 53J00 ECU, but some functions may not work properly, and the programmable I/O may not work as expected.

Thanks,
Dave

ok so the only safe option is to locate and use only the ecus that are listed on the the web site

Dave you will be able to incorporate Alpha-N tuning on the speed density conversion??
Just to know if we want to run a set of ITB's be able to tune at least the fuel map based on throttle position..
Thanks

Yes, you will be able to use MAF, MAP, or Alpha-N for the load scale, and will be able to program when to switch between the different load sources. You will also be able to program the switch to alternate fuel and timing maps. For example, I am currently using the A/C switch to switch between MAF and MAP as load source, and primary and alternate fuel and timing maps.

Cheers,
Dave

Great thats what I wanted to hear so basically there wont be any need for standalone ECU's in the future of SR community...
Thanks

Hey Dave, can I use my NEMU ecu with the original Nismotronic software to tune in realtime until the V5N bin is sorted out.
