Launch control uses a cyclic fuel cut.

Thanks,

is it possible to use a spark cut out for this?

Yes, but that can cause serious exhaust header/system damage, along with raw fuel wash-down of cylinder walls.

Hmm, could other switches be used for switching maps and stuff? Say, you're using a second rear-defogger switch on the dash, and integrate it as a map switcher?

Is this also do-able with a Calum RTv2 on a VE?

Say, I want a map that is mapped for fuel economy for regular driving, with the cam switching points quite low, for better fuel economy, and another map that has a sportier mapping, with "perfect" switchover points? And switch them with the extra switch on the dash (replacing the dummy switch, next to the defogger, emergency warning lights and rear foglight)?

Would that be feasible?

The VE control uses the 2 outputs, right? Would the switch be an input then?

@ Venom: If you want major afterfire (and damage), that's the way to go :P. Don't be a Honda-boy (they do that all the time over here) :P
@ Dave: What about the regular RPM limit? Was it fuel or spark cut? Can't remember

Yes, depending on which ECU you use.

The VE control outputs can be programmed to turn on using trigger points based on RPM, TPS, CLT, IAT, Load, VSS, AFR, Battery Voltage, Gear, 4 ADC channels on NEMU board, and Digital inputs.

@mojo...i offer a service over here in the islands and one of the biggest complains i get is that the nissan launch control is way too weak sounding for their liking ...i supply a demand and if the customer wants a specific feature ,even after knowing the consequences ,then thats there decision not mine. my job is to provide it

@dave... is it possible for you to add spark cut launch control in tunercode as an option?
that way the user have a choice between fuel cut or spark cut LC

thanx
