I always Liked the idea of remaining stock, ECU-wise. I always liked my car full with PS and A/C and the stock ECU helps me keep the same everything on it! I also always liked MAF as an application since it helps the ECU realize every possible change in the air, temperature or other. It always has been harder to tune and has a limit of approxemently 500whp(Z32). Using a MAP helps us easily overcome that limit(Thank you Dave!). So my own conclusion is: Stock ECU FTW!

This makes me really happy. I just wanted to know if anyone knows: Will the P12-VE, T30-VET CAS suit the S13 SR20DET ECU?

I didn't see any reason why you couldn't do this, this would open up a lot more options for upgraded ignition systems.

What's better again about COP vs distributors?

And crap, my RTv2 is a weird ass DE one :P.

All you need is the power transistor, coils, wiring, and TunerCode. You can use the original CAS in the distributor just fine.

1. No distributor means no more rotor, cap, and wire replacement (wear items).
2. No distributor means more consistent ignition timing (no arc from rotor to cap).
3. Multiple coils means higher dwell = stronger spark.
4. Others?

You can swap your RTv2 (or RTv1) into an SR20DET ECU!

Cheers,
Dave

True, but that could potentially ruin my daughterboard, or ECU, if done incorrectly .

Maybe something for the future

Thanks! Need to start looking for some SR20VE 20V COPs then .

A shopping list (stickied) should be handy for anyone doing this...

Stop tempting me!

I might go that route instead of bothering with External Coil conversion.

External multi coil conversion? No more distributor? Maybe a good idea!
