Me too!

I will probably get this to try when I get a VVL engine or until an OBD II alternative comes out. *fingers crossed*

You heard right. If you have ever tuned a Calum or a Nistune ECU this is a dream. Every single function is defined and has documentation behind it. No more unknown functions, or not knowing what to do with values!

- Good thread. I'm looking into tuning options now. Either NIStune RT or Calum RT.

I wish I had more time to improve the tunercode.com web site, but fortunately John's work on the Nismotronic site will help improve that situation (Thanks John!). Please email me (dave@tunercode.com) for detailed information on obtaining TunerCode.

Thanks for the props!

^^^Exactly. The documentation alone is worth the price, the software damn near makes it priceless. I've had it for a while now and I still have only scratched the surface of it's capabilities. The VE is street tuned though, just waiting to go back to the dyno. Tunercode helped a lot.

Count me in, just picked up a b13 ecu from pullapart, need a stepdown harness though. So tunercode works with basic ecu's and RT's?? What are the benefits with tunercode with RT over the basic??

Any kind of datalogging capabilities etc.?

TunerCode works with Basic and RT as it is just the firmware.

The benefits of the RT is the fact that you have a single connection for Emulation and Datalogging. It allows for realtime tuning and logging which is definitely a plus.

The basic has the same capabilities if you use a dual ostrich emulator setup and a consult logging cable. It just isn't as convenient as a RT setup which only requires a single connection.

TunerCode offers a TON of logging parameters over the standard Consult protocol. Check out Dave's Website for the parameters that you can log.

My understanding is that you need Nistune's programmer in order to change the code on the Nistune daughter board. You can change the data (tune) the code uses with Nistune's app, but you need the programmer to change the code portion of the bin. If you could burn the TunerCode bin onto the Nistune board, it would run the engine, however you wouldn't have real-time programming capability because that is part of Nistune's code. It uses a modified (proprietary?) Consult protocol to perform real-time tuning (tune data changes), which TunerCode doesn't support.
