Sure, that is fine.

Or you can download the newest version from the download link that was in the email and just copy over your older exe.

You can keep your Prefs/Reg/MafData files from the old version and just change the application file.

I just wanted to let everyone aware of a new update procedure that will automatically update your program when there is a new version available.

Everyone that has the software can download the newest version from the directory and then download then just use the update feature from then on for any future updates!

Auto Update

Select the Check for Updates Menu Item.

If there is a newer version available then you will see a dialog screen.

If you would like to update hit the Update Now button.

A progress bar screen will pop up and show the progress of the download.

When the download is finished another prompt will come up and say the update was downloaded successfully.

When you select OK on the Update Complete dialog it will close your current version of the program and will automatically open the newest version. The newest version will be downloaded into your NismoTronic directory under the nanme Nismotronic(2).exe.

When the program reopens it will move your old program file (Nismotronic.exe) to the trash folder and will keep the new program file (Nismotronic(2).exe) in the folder.

When you close the NEW program it will then rename the Nismotronic(2).exe file to NismoTronic.exe automatically, so there is no need to change the file name manually.

To verify that the update procedure went properly, open up your new version of NismoTronic and check for updates. If the version is up to date, you will see this screen.

I am in the middle of adding support for the stock OBDII firmware, but have not decided if I am going to release a public version of this yet.

There is one catch with the OBD2 stuff, it wouldn't be the TunerCode firmware and it would not have all of the logging capability or the features of TunerCode.

It would simply be table editing and emulation, the program still does not support the stock consult logging protocol, so you would have to use another program for any of the logging.

That doesn't sound so bad! Better than what we have

After analyzing the STOCK OBD2 firmware and discussing things with Dave I have decided NOT to add support for the STOCK OBD2 firmware.

There is just too much in the ECU that is still yet to be understood and the things that are understood are rather limited.

This does not mean that there will not be support in the future for the OBD2 TunerCode firmware, but the STOCK OBD2 firmware will not be added to the supported ROMs for NismoTronic.
