If you want to use the ostrich setup, then yes. It requires 2 Ostrich Units, since you would have to emulate BOTH of the chips to run the car properly.

Like I stated earlier, the Ostrich setup should only be considered if you plan on tuning multiple cars with it. That would make them worth the investment.

Unfortunately, there aren't many options out there for emulation right now because Calum no longer makes the RT boards. This is a viable option for people with the basic boards, but might not be the most cost effective in the long run if you are only using them on a single car.

I'm considering Ostrich as a permanent way to drive with a custom mapping.
For us euro-guys it's quite cheap tbh.

That should work just fine as well.

The ostrich has an internal battery which will allow you to keep the unit installed in the ECU at all times if you wish.

question, does ostrich allow the various consult outputs (via for example nissan datascan) to work?

Yes. The ostrich has no affect on anything except what is on the chip.

So everything that works with a regular chip installed, will work with the ostrich.

If that is the case, the logging is through the consult port NOT through the emulator, all the emulator does is allow you to change the tune that is stored on the emulator in realtime. The emulators are completely separate from the logging.

I do not support the Ostrich Hardware tracing, so all of the data that you are getting is being streamed via the consult port.

no during map tracing. I understand that the program has full data logging and if i click on a part of the log it highlights the map.

I see there are tabs for all of the maps, my question is: is it possible to view more then one map at a time?

The way it is setup only allows you to view the selected tab at one time.

So if you are going through a log and want to map trace the fuel map, you need the fuel table tab selected.

If you want to map trace the ignition map, you would have the ignition table tab selected.

The parameters don't trace (yet).

I am working on setting up a parameter trace for all of the tables/tabs, but that will be in a future release.

Is there a drop down menu for injector change and MAF change or would you have to adjust the k-value to change these. I am now getting into tuning the stock ECUs and so far i like what i see. I have been using the E-manage to fine tune my basic board and other cars that still have the stock ECUs with great results but think it's time to move on to something better. I have Tunerpro on my laptop but find it a little hard to understand sometimes. This seems to be alot more user friendly.

It's crazy how many questions you get in a single day...haha. Here's one more. Do you know much about the b14-b13 stepdown harness and does the consult still work when you use the stepdown harness??

NismoTronic has a MAF Rescale screen which allows you to input the MAX HP of the current MAF and the MAX Hp of the new MAF and it will calculate the new Kvalue, TP scaling and Min/Max TP tables for you.

It also has a drop down menu for most of the stock MAFs, including SR20DE, SR20DET, VG30DETT, RB20DET, etc. It will auto fill the MAF Vq table when you select the maf you would like to use. It also allows you to Create and Save a custom MAF for your car!

I also have a resize injectors screen that allows you to input New and Old injector sizing and it will change the K-value for you. BUT when using TunerCode there is a Current and Base Injector size value that you can enter, which you should do instead of using the auto rescale method!

I will try to post some screen shots of the MAF rescale and injector rescale screens!

The stepdown harness should allow you to retain the consult without a problem.
