Also, you have to have an Ostrich for each chip.

@Lynchfourtwenty - I am just tired of seeing Nistune discussed when it has nothing to do with what is in this thread or section. So it is my bias. You also probably don't know that I am very familiar with Nistune and how it all works. Also the RT2 has removable USB cable...

I'm familiar with the two COM ports. Just wanted to make sure that even though we had dedicated ports, it still didn't go through consult .

Are you able to buy the emulation ostrich chips cheaper? Also you could get away with burning just a regular chip after fine tuning it with Ostrich.

As for removable USB, you can fab something up for the RT1 too. All it is is a 4-5 wire USB cable that plugs to the board. It's not even soldered directly to the board .

This is how I tune customer's cars that do not have a real time board. The ostrich setup allows me to tune in realtime while they are here on the dyno.

Once I am done with the tune, I take the ostrich(es) out and burn their tune onto a chip. Put the chip in their basic board, and away they go.

So....great software...nice firmware, now where do we find an ECU that supports the firmware thats realtime? I dont really want to mess with ostrich...sorry.

Like mentioned earlier, you would have to pick up an older Calum RT board and have it installed into your ECU if you don't want to mess with an ostrich setup.

Hopefully in the future we have a replacement for the Calum boards since he stopped making them.

I want to get this software for now, which is about 50$. Compared to Nistune at 200$. I know that i will be missing out on a lot of what it offers like using one fuel/timing map, past 8K tuning etc.... I would get tunercode if i upgraded to a realtime board but for now i just want to use NismoTronic. Using rom editor sucks because the display window is so small and i just dont like the layout of TunerPro.

Can i do this and when will NismoTronic finally be available?

Thanks
Evan

Evan,

At this particular time, NismoTronic only supports TunerCode firmware bin Files.

I could add support for the OEM firmware, BUT I will NOT be adding support for the OEM consult logging protocol.

So you would be missing out on all of the logging features. The only thing that would be useful would be the realtime emulation/tuning.

I haven't decided exactly what I want to do at this point, but to me, the TunerCode system is the best firmware out there. And for the price you can't beat it

A little update on the software.

I worked on Innovate Direct Logging today.

The software now supports Direct Logging with all Innovate Products including the LM1/LC1/LM2 widebands.

Also added triggers for start/stop Recording and an AF ratio input selection (O2 input, Direct Logging).

I am testing this on a car tomorrow so look for a release date of early next week!
