We have a good version up and running right now.. just double checking that it won't give anyone any issues and it will be ready to go!

I must apologize to every one for the wait time, but we don't want to give you something that isn't going to work as advertised!

Hey John, I noticed quite a few guys that are using Tunerpro have their fuel maps so that it shows AFR's is this a possible feature in Nismotronic if so how would I get mines to convert?

I haven't decided if I wanted to use this just because it doesn't give you the "actual" a/f ratio, and I don't want it to be confused with an ECU TARGET afr.

Gotcha, I remember having this discussion with you before because I found a program that converts the number to AFR's. Albeit I do understand that it isn't actual AFR it would still be nice to look at something one can understand versus the single, double and triple digits the Nissan Obd1 ecu's use. Sort of like putting a picture with a face.

The ONLY thing that really matters is the end result of the numbers, which can be logged in the NismoTronic A/F screens.

NismoTronic also gives you a TRUE target AFR screen where it compares your logged AFR to the target that you have setup in the AFR Target Window.

The ECU DOES NOT use the AFR Target window, it is only used by the software to help calculate the % difference from your logged AFR to your target.

I have contemplated displaying the values as AFR in the actual fuel window, but haven't seen the advantage of it yet. I will toss the idea around though!

The ECU reports a number between 0-1023 that is the result of the A/D (analog to digital) conversion of the O2 sensor voltage. This number is converted by the software (Nismotronic) to an actual voltage, which is then used in the voltage to AFR conversion function, depending on the O2 sensor connected. For example, the conversion for the AEM EUGO is (voltage x 2) + 10. So if the voltage is 2.0, the AFR is 14.0. Since the voltage can be slightly offset from the actual voltage, due to grounding offsets, the conversion function may need to be modified to calculate the correct AFR, depending on each individual installation.

Makes sense, I was reading some of the posts on here and its all starting to come together on how everything integrates with each other.

Now as far as displaying the values in the fuel map as AFR, that is simply a mathematical manipulation of the numbers, and in my opinion, is misleading. You can't set a particular AFR value in the fuel map and expect the engine to run at that AFR when operating in that cell. This is especially true in the closed loop portion of the fuel map. As John said, all that matters is that increasing the value adds fuel, decreasing removes fuel. Adding or removing fuel in the closed loop portion of the fuel map with closed loop enable, only forces the closed loop system to add or remove fuel to maintain stoic AFR (14.7 for gas).

Finally purchased a development project car!

B14 chasis with a conversion harness to OBD1 ecu running a NEMU RT board with NismoTronic!
