Just looked and it does have that little OBD II connector and it does have the consult port.

Thanks to LikeTheMovies for helping me see that little white connector.

I have read that a bunch of times and never understood it until recently. Thanks Cliff!

My SE-L had a consult port and an OBDII port.

why can't you just put "For race use only" like every other performance co.

Exactly what wnwright said now that I read the whole thread.

I beg to differ tek. My 96 has consult and obdII connectors. I use consult for NDS all the time, and can check codes with my scanner.

If you live in an area with smog testing then tampering with your ECU is just asking for trouble. If you live in an area where they do not test, Like WI, then just convert to OBDI and be done. It is relatively easy and eliminates a lot of headaches.

Im sure Dave is doing the best as he can, remember, it is his butt on the line, not yours. If you dont want to wait then buy a JWT ecu and a SAFC and call it a day. They are labeled "For Offroad Use Only" so take your chances.

Hmm I stand corrected then. I know that using the OBDII connector to view CONSULT status messages and whatnot was just fine, so I figured the CONSULT port itself was no longer used, even though it was present.

I state on the TunerCode web site, and in the disclaimer, that it is for off road use only. However, that doesn't relieve the fact that tampering, in and of itself, is illegal, even if it isn't presented for an emissions inspection. That's the "rub" I find myself in.

Converting to a B13 ECU is a viable option (at this point in time), as TunerCode is available for that. A JWT ECU doesn't offer the features TunerCode does, and an SAFC is a step backwards, imho.

Thanks,
Dave
