Thread: Cordless Impact Driver/Gun - Advice needed

Anyone have one here?

I'm not looinking to break loose rusted bolts, just one to speed the process of getting the lug nuts off my cars.

Suggestions?

I got a 24v Goodyear one from Pepboys.. great tool IMO.

eventhough the cordless ones are easier to use i dont think many of them can compare to the air powered ones that are like 525ft/lb

That´s more than obvious.. but for changing tires and doing minor works on the car they´re fabulous, remember not everyone has an air compressor.

pneumatic tools are the best invention ever

I have a DeWalt 18V cordless impact, and it is great for taking off lugs at the track (or even around the house). I bought mine several years back at one of the Conventions - long story.

I would have to check the model number at home.

I have the 18 volt lithium ion Makita, definately awesome. I have tried some of the cheaper ones, and they are just that CHEAP. Spend a descent amount now, and don't worry about it. I have probably spent over $500 on all of them combined, when I could have just spent the original $250 or whatever it was I paid. They are worth their weight in gold, imo.

After reading through all of it, there was a clear winner in my opinion. I just can't remember which one. I'll try to look and find out again.
As for removing and putting on lug nuts. Do you want to not have to torque them down and break them loose? If so, that's going to be a serious driver also capable of breaking loose rusted bolts (and just straight up breaking stuff).
If you want something almost up to the task, the Makita I mention is good for that.

My buddy has 4 of them at his shop. He RARELY uses his pneumatic tools any more. His are all snap-on, but they are amazing how well they work. I know I plan on buying a set whenever funds permit.
