This thread is awesome! Big tumbz up!!

Thank-you to all of the members who are posting up pictures. There really are some impressive and creative pieces of workmanship here.

I only have one request, can the members who are posting up pictures put a little bit of info up about each welded piece? Something along the lines of: material used, type of weld, gas used, brushing tools/methods etc. I think it would really help some novice/wannabe welders with getting familiar with what results one can expect with different types pf welds/materials. I am especially interested in the specific type of welds being done in each case.

I have never welded before but once I get the space to set up a little work area, you can bet I will be learning how to do this!!! I NEED to build stuff!

Keep up the pictures (and weld details ), please.

Thanks.

it depends what im doing. i get most of normal radius stuff from a local place that bends called tubular techniques. if its cones or tight radius stuff i get from
woolf aircraft. if its sch 10 or sch 40 weld els i get them from fergusion plumbing or ace stainless. keep in mind i dont buy jumk material because i dont make junk. so the materials are alot more money up front. i always tell customers im not for everyone. The bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

seems like your on the right track tho.

I got most of my stuff from Treadstone the last time and it seemed to be some pretty good piping. It was all sch 30 stainless. It was the first one I made though so I wouldn't know what good quality piping is.
