yes, I am using my EMT benders, 3/4". I'm an electrician and bending pipe is my specialty. Almost done with the project, just got to finish some loose ends and paint it, but haven't decided on a color yet.

All the rails around here are tractor colors...haha

I'm not a welder, so I don't have anything useful to contribute to this thread, but I came across this in our club.

As I said, it's not my welding (can't do it), but as far as I know, this is NOT the way to weld something, especially not when doing a turbo-manifold.

@nsusammyeb are you using 100% argon when you tig steel? Also are you back purging? Just curious.

using co2, argon, helium for stainless. I don't have the set up yet to back purge. Working on that.

You can do a simple "ghetto" setup to back purge. I wouldn't finish weld any of that stainless mani w/o back purging. You probably already know, but it will cause a lot of problems if you don't.

Simple back purge setup: Get some sort of metal to close off the openings with clamps. Have small holes in the metal (I like to use rigid aluminum cause it's easy to work with), then fill the runners with your gas from either a separate tank and hose, or you can hold the torch so the cup is against the hole and fill it as best as you can with your gas. Then use a small piece of tape to seal the hole up. It's ghetto, but works pretty damn good LOL.

lmao, I'll give it a shot. Worth it to just pick up an extra tank and reg though. I'm sure it would be 10x easier.

True, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do

Looks good, never welded anything for the car, but I did build the bumpers for my Jeep. Also did all the mounts/brackets for the suspension and rear axle swap, no up close weld pics though
