you deff can run a bigger cup if you want. typically bigger the better when It comes to stainless.

I use this kit at the moment, it has a very large clear cup pyrex over 1" big. it works fairly well.

once you get your welds down good. you will have to try backpurge. it is night and day how good ss welds when purged correctly

Use separate SS brushes for different materials. I write aluminum, ss or mild on the brush with a sharpy.

I'll be back welding in a few more weeks, once I get this cast/ brace off. Tried to play with no rod welding ended up setting my bandage on fire on pisspoorprep scrap 304 impurity blow off. Add 2 more weeks for burns sustained. FML.

I've cracked my clear cups as well...sucks. They're pretty expensive.

Here is a great photo of a customers intercooler... He brought it in for us to pressure test, cause he just bought it for $175 from a shop 1.5hr away. It was a sad day for him.

Yea, the oval to round while bending is always fun! Add a bell mouth out of the turbo and it gets even better.
