Why TDMi's bushings are only available in black color?
Why is the rubber black:thinking: Can’t I do some color customization? I’m sorry, you can’t. The actual reason is, rubber is the main material doing the damping in the bushing; rubber in its original form is a very soft and flexible material. In order to provide a bushing for performance and racing vehicles, increased stress and shear loading is required to meet the extreme demands of racing and continuous repetitive use.
In 1912, a substance known as lampblack/graphite additive was discovered, after the substance was added, it increases the strength of rubber by 10 times. Today, the additive is added into tires and many suspension components containing rubber. Lampblack additive is black in color, so the color of the bushings will be black by default. If you want to change the color of the rubber, it will degrade its properties and performance; therefore as a company of high standards in quality and performance, we do not have an option for color customization.
