Weird, I had no problem getting the socket on, threading issues, tightening it down, or taking the socket off.

I did not cut the passenger side mount because it was two piece, I did grind down the others on one edge to press them in though.

Also.. I used thread lock on all the bolts, only medium grade though if I ever need to remove them.

See the thing is, my bolts would go in crooked and started making a new thread, so to save myself buying a new piece of metal I just cut the prothane.

On another note, my wheel hop is back. It's not as bad as before but throws the car around a bit. I hope new tires fix this though hehe. Now this started happening after new exhaust, so I guess the exhaust cleared up some horses

Re-check your bolts also, make sure they are tight, I do this whenever I install anything new in the car after a week.

One thing I have noticed on my B13 is that not all Nissan OEM passenger side housings are the same. The "ears" on some are thicker, which might make it harder to insert a bolt.

And I definitely want wiggle room when installing the bolts. It's easy to cross thread them, and I had to pull out the tap and die to clean up one of mine. Even with the generous indentions I cut, it was still a tight squeeze for the socket. Just regular old Craftsman 3/8" drive, nothing thick-walled.

I'm not sure what was different this time, but I've never had so much trouble aligning the mount, chassis, and engine. I've swapped mounts, clutches, and an engine on SR20 cars, and never had that much trouble.

I could make some humble suggestions to Prothane about their molds!

This would explain a lot. However, my friend has a 92 B13 and his mount was the same as mine. But, if other years are different than it would explain problems people have with installing these.

awesome write up man!! I wish I had this write-up when I did mine.

I had the exact same problems as you installing them, especially that damn passenger mount. You HAVE to cut it, there's no way around it. No one ever seems to mention this though. I might add that you should feel the vibrations less and less as time goes on as they get broken in. One bad vibration I now have is with my hood. My hood rattles like no tomorrow. I'm thinking of getting some new rubber washers on the hood or come up with another solution because it's pretty annoying.

Thanks Gomba!

I must mention that I was able to get it in without shaving the sides, but man it was painful.

Really? Then what's this pic? http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t188/covertrussian/Sentra%20SE-L/Performance/Motor%20Mounts/CIMG3841.jpg

I basically had to do the same as you, but mine didn't look nearly as neat using a hobby knife and wire cutter hah. I guess you're saying most people shave the entire mount down to make it fit.

lol. People at the bank hate me because the sound of the rattling hood is so loud when waiting in the drive through. Maybe next time I should do the cell phone trick to give them a little show.
