This is my dad's tried-and-true 10-minute method.
You need to make pieces (A) and (B) out of some kind of aluminum conduit at Home Depot. (A) needs to be the same diameter as the "meat" of the motor mount bracket (they are colored the same in the illustration, yellow)
(B) needs to be the same diameter of the metal of the of the inner part. (both in orange)
The length of (A) and (B) needs to be cut so that the whole assembly (A+B+motor mount) fits in your vise.
When you torque down the vice, (B) will press on the inner part, forcing it through the mount, and into (A).
I hope this makes it easy for someone to replicate, I'm nowhere near my dad's garage to make measurements and get pics.
