How does one go about getting approved by the illuminati to organize a convention...say for 2017...in TEXAS!? Track day will be included without a doubt!

Just did a trackday with outside temps peaking at 108 and temps never falling below 100 (7:35 AM until 4:00 PM when I left) with humidity in the 1000-128082% region.

Fuck doing trackdays in Tejhaaas between January and December!

Oooh, I'd love to see it come back to Texas. What tracks are you looking at?

You'll want to start a discussion with previous organizers, like @happynole @LOUROK @marksr20 @SE-Rican to name a few.

There are a few close by: COTA, Harris Hill Road, or Driveway Austin which also has karting.
The Longhorn Racing Academy is one avenue to a track...I'm still looking for more!

Harris Hill is a blast. It's not big, but there's plenty of fun to be had, and the guys who run it are very chill. Harris is also noob friendly, and they'll even run the track in the opposite direction after lunch.

I'd be surprised if there would be any way to run COTA for a reasonable sum of money, even assuming we'd be piggy-backing on another event.

We don't have to front the money before the event right??

..............$10,000/person for 1.5 hours on track sounds reasonable............

You can't afford $250...that would be for 1hr behind the wheel of a track prepped MX-5 Miata. Still waiting to hear back on running our own cars...

I will, however, kindly ask you to keep this productive and moving forward or I will ask you to moderate yourself out of the conversation.
